Forecast: Widely scattered showers Saturday in metro Detroit

Temperatures remain unchanged through weekend

DETROIT – Temperatures have remained virtually unchanged over the last few days with morning lows near 60 and highs near 80.

The one thing that has changed is the radar is active. Even though the main area is weakening as it moves east, there is still enough moisture and lift to trigger a few light showers late this evening into early Saturday morning.

So overnight, expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures that are just slightly higher than last nights numbers -- we'll be in the low 60s by Saturday morning.

The weekend will start with plenty of clouds with peeks of sun around, especially midday. It looks like there may be a few widely scattered light showers in the afternoon on Saturday. But most of us will remain dry. And humidity levels will stay low. Expect afternoon highs near 80.

Sunday will bring more sunshine and slightly warmer temperature with highs in the low 80s.

Looking ahead to Monday

Monday will be the transition day going forward. It's our best chance of showers and thunderstorms. Moreover, we'll feel the humidity for the first time in awhile. Temperatures should get to the low 80s before thunderstorms appear.

Then we'll go back to cooler, comfortable, dry days for the remainder of the forecast.
