150 news jobs coming to Detroit's east side

DETROIT – Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and City Councilmember Scott Benson announced Tuesday a plan to bring 150 new jobs to the Interstate 94 Industrial Park on the city's east side.

The mayor said a 500,000 square-foot logistics facility is being created for Linc, a Universal Truckload Services company. It will create 150 new positions.

"More companies are interested in opening and expanding in Detroit and we are starting to see them come to fruition," said Mayor Duggan. "This new development is creating significant employment opportunities for Detroiters in an area of the city where jobs are needed the most."

The first 200,000 aquare-foot portion of the new facility will open this fall, providing the first 25-30 new jobs. The remaining 300,000 square feet will come online in early 2016 and provide jobs for an additional 120 employees.
