Mother of boy found wandering on street in SW Detroit arrives at police station


DETROIT – The mother of a boy who was found wandering the streets of SW Detroit on Wednesday has arrived at the police station.

Detroit police found the young boy wandering alone long the Interstate 75 service drive near Wheelock Street.

The boy waited with police at the Detroit Police Department's 4th Precinct station on Fort Street. Police believe he is about 7 years old.

It's unclear how the child got out on his own to wander in the street. Authorities have handed the investigation over to Child Protective Services.
