Fundraising event aims to bring justice to sexual assault victims

Goal of testing unopened rape kits found in 2009

DETROIT – A fundraising event was held Sunday at the Peacock Room supporting Enough SAID, an independent campaign to bring justice to victims of sexual assault.

Enough SAID (Enough Sexual Assault in Detroit), is a collaboration between the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, the Detroit Crime Commission and the Michigan Women's Foundation.

The event drew an appearance from Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy who spoke on the important work Enough SAID has been doing.

The store donated 25 percent of all sales today to help Enough SAID in their goal of getting the 11,000 unopened rape kits that were found in 2009 tested, bringing justice to victims and making the community safer.

The Peacock Room is in the Park Shelton at 15 Kirby Street in Detroit.
