Suspect in custody in connection to MotorCity carjacking, abduction

DETROIT – Detroit police took a suspect into custody Saturday afternoon in connection to a carjacking and abduction at MotorCity Casino Wednesday morning.

With help from Michigan State Police and MotorCity Casino, authorities were able to identify the suspect.

The Commercial Auto Theft Squad found out where the man worked and arrested the suspect at his job Saturday around 3:30 p.m.

The man allegedly followed two women, ages 78 and 68, to the parking garage at MotorCity Casino and forced himself into their PT Cruiser.

They were told to drive around and were left on a west-side street.

The vehicle was recovered Friday afternoon around the corner from the casino.
