Forecast: Sunny skies, familiar temps Friday in metro Detroit

DETROIT – Temperatures have been inching up, both in the mornings and afternoons, over the last few days. But today's high will be the warmest we'll get over the next 10 days.

Overnight, we'll see most of today's high clouds move out. Fog will develop again overnight. Lows will drop to the 50s area-wide.

Friday forecast:

Friday, once the morning fog burns off, mostly sunny skies will return. Temperatures should match today's highs in the upper 70s.

Weekend forecast:

The weekend remains dry. But we will see more clouds and less sunshine by Sunday. Not great news for checking out Sunday night's Supermoon eclipse, but it's still worth looking for.

Next week we MAY finally see some rain. Right now it looks that chance will be on Tuesday. But moisture appears to be lacking, so even if showers move through, there's no guarantee everyone will see them.

Plus, it's doubtful that rain will make up our more than 1-inch rainfall deficit.
