Southgate schools briefly put in secure mode after man creates disturbance

SOUTHGATE, Mich. – Southgate schools were briefly put on lockdown Friday morning after a man made threats.

Police Director Thomas Coombs said the man created a disturbance at Asher School, which is an alternative and adult educational building.

The man left and no injuries were reported, Coombs said.

As a precaution, schools were put in secure mode.

The precaution was lifted for all schools except Asher and Davidson Middle School.
