Weekend forecast: Beautiful weather!

DETROIT – We've made it to the weekend, and we're bringing the beautiful along with it!

Even though this work/school week has brought us nearly perfect weather conditions, there's still enough left over for a nice weekend.

Overnight, we'll have a few high clouds around. Temperatures will be slightly milder in the mid-to-upper 50s. And just like most nights this week, watch for patchy fog to develop closer to daybreak.

Saturday forecast:

Saturday will be the pick of the two weekend days. Highs will hit the mid 70s, and sunshine will win out over a few clouds.

Sunday forecast:

By Sunday we'll see mostly cloudy skies. Most of us will stay dry, but a couple sprinkles may show up. Any raindrops won't last long and won't amount to much. The added clouds will keep temperatures a bit cooler, right around 70.

And this isn't good news for sky watchers who are looking to catch a glimpse of the Super Moon eclipse Sunday night. Here's the details on that eclipse, just in case clouds part for a bit on Sunday evening.

Our best chance of rain arrives on Tuesday. A cold front slides through triggering a few showers. But any rain we pick up won't make a serious dent in our more-than-1-inch deficit for the month of September. Behind that front, temperatures will drop. Check out the numbers in the 10-Day Forecast for more.

Have a great weekend! I'll see you Sunday night before the Lions game on Local 4 News at 6.
