Teen jokes about 'shooting up' Walled Lake Northern High School
COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A junior at Walled Lake Northern High School claims he was just joking around with friends when he said Friday that he was going to "shoot up the school," according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
The comment was made in a text message.
The school principal notified the school liaison deputy, who in turn contacted the 16-year-old student's parents. During an interview at the Commerce Township substation, the student told law enforcement he was just joking around with his friends. He said he knows he should not have done that and that he had no intentions of shooing up the school.
The teen was released to his parents and possible charges are pending.
Several other students were interviewed, too.
