Masked men bind worker, customers during Melvindale Check 'n Go robbery

Police release surveillance video showing robbers' faces

MELVINDALE, Mich. – Melvindale police have released surveillance video of a violent robbery at a Check 'n Go this month with the hope someone can recognize the crooks.

Two men robbed the store on Allen Road at gunpoint on Oct. 20.

"It was four in the afternoon when they robbed the store. As they are walking out, you can see them take their masks off," said Lt. John Bajorek. "They probably didn't want to be seen at the time with masks on."

A worker and two customers were bound with zip ties and forced to lay facedown on the floor.

"It's always scary when customers are involved, especially when they are getting tied up," Bajorek said. "I can't imagine what's going through their minds as they are laying on their stomachs with guns overhead."

Bajorek said police believe a third person, a getaway driver, was involved.

"They were in and out of the store in less than 2 minutes," Bajorek said. "We want to find them."
