Forecast: Warm with rain on Wednesday in metro Detroit

DETROIT – Other than a few sprinkles this evening, most of the night will be dry and mostly cloudy.

Temperatures will drop to 50 overnight, then rise to the mid 50s by daybreak.

Wednesday forecast:

Wednesday, we may see a few peeks of early sunshine before clouds get thicker. High temperatures will hit the mid 60s (!!!!) before showers start falling in the afternoon. So we'll likely be within 4 degrees of the record, which is 69. Winds will increase to 20-30 mph. And we may see higher gusts in showers. That rain will be around from mid-afternoon through the evening. Then we'll be dry overnight.

Thursday forecast:

Partly cloudy and windy conditions expected Thursday with a high of only 50.

It will be even colder Friday, but with sunshine we'll make it to the low 40s in the afternoon.

Weekend forecast:

Saturday, it looks like we'll get our first accumulating snow of the season. It's too early to talk amounts, but timing-wise expect snow to show up Saturday afternoon and hang around through early Sunday morning. We'll keep tabs on it as we get closer to the weekend.
