Ambulance involved in crash on Detroit's west side

Crash at Warren and Alter also involved PT Cruiser


DETROIT – An ambulance driver was taken to the hospital to be checked out Wednesday after the rig was involved in a crash on Detroit's east side.

The crash happened at Alter Road and E. Warren Avenue -- and also involved a PT Cruiser.

Detroit EMS union president Joe Barney said the ambulance is not a city ambulance and is owned by First Response.

It was not immediately known if the driver of the PT Cruiser was hurt.
