Local business makes it easy to give back

A local business is making it easy to give back this holiday season.

“When your business is built around making dreams come true we set the bar high for ourselves,” says Kurt Colone, vice president of sales and entertainment for Mike Staff Productions. “We work really hard to make a big difference.”

Mike Staff Productions is an award-winning wedding photography, videography and DJ company out of Troy. This holiday season, they launched the 2015 “Heart To Serve” challenge.

How does it work? The company will be giving five people $500 each by asking the question, “If we gave you $500 to help someone else in need, how would you use the money?"

Why have this contest?

“We love to help others in need, especially people within the communities we serve. We know many people have a heart for others, but may not have the financial means to give,” said Mike Staff, owner of Mike Staff Productions.

Hundreds of entries have already been submitted, including Heather Shank’s cause.

“I am trying to earn the money for Mitten’s in Detroit to help people who are struggling or are living on the streets with the basics,” said Shanks. “I can’t even imagine how many mittens I could get for $500.”

The contest runs just short of a month and will close on Thursday, Dec. 17. Remember to visit their Facebook page to enter and be sure to share and vote for the cause you submitted.
