Farmington police seek white pickup truck in connection with break-in

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Farmington Hills police released a photo Wednesday of a white pickup truck that fled the scene of a break-in at a home.

Police said a homeowner in the 28000 block of Peppermill Road interrupted a man Tuesday who was breaking into the home, and fire two shots at the intruder's white pickup truck -- possibly a Dodge Ram -- as it drove away. The homeowner does have a license to carry, police said.

The pickup ran a red light on 13 Mile Road at Orchard Lake Road and got into a crash at Middlebelt Road, police said. It drove away from the crash scene.

Police said the pickup truck should have damage to its front-end, driver's side rear tire or rear bed. It could also have a bullet hole in the front grill.

Police describe the pickup's driver as white, 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build and in his early 20s or 30s. He was wearing a tan Carhartt jacket that had a hood.

Anyone with information on the break-in or the pickup truck is asked to call police at 248-871-2610.
