Boy approached, offered ride by stranger in Northville


NORTHVILLE, Mich. – Police are on the lookout after a stranger offered a boy a ride Friday afternoon in the city of Northville.

The incident happened in the area of 8 Mile Road and Center Street around 3:30 p.m.

A 10-year-old boy was walking home from Amerman Elementary School when a man pulled up in a vehicle and asked if wanted a ride.

The boy declined and hid behind a nearby house. The driver left the area and the boy was able to return home.

He described the driver as of Indian descent, around 35 to 40 years of age, with a slight accent. He has dark mullet hairstyle.

The vehicle the man was driving was a black, four-door sedan. The vehicle had tinted rear windows and had a silver grill. The boy said the vehicle may have been a Volkswagen.
