Local celebrities to donate water to Flint

FLINT – Local celebrities are getting involved to the  help the residents of Flint. Motown recording artist and Detroit native, Kem, is partnering with the Salvation Army to assist in the Flint water crisis.

Tuesday, Kem will travel to Flint to help distribute water to those residents in need. The singer will also promote his "Text to Give" campaign. Those wanting to donate can should text the word "Water" to 91999.

All donations collected will go to the Salvation Army of Genesee County.

Meanwhile, Detroit rapper Eminem is joining forces with Mark Wahlberg, and Sean 'Diddy' Combs to donate one million bottles of water to Flint.

Wahlberg and Combs are investors in the AQUAhydrate bottled water company, and will provide the water to residents. The first 5,000 cases of water are expected to be delivered before the end of the week.

More celebrities are now being called in to help participate in water donations.
