Redford police search for man who forced way into home, stole money

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Redford police are looking for the man who forced his way into an older woman's home near Woodworth and Fargo streets Tuesday morning, and stole money and personal items.

Police said the man knocked on the victim's front door just before 10 a.m. and pushed past her when she opened it.

The man searched the home and told the victim that one of her relatives owed him money, police said. 

The victim wasn't hurt during the robbery. 

Police describe the man as black, light complected, in his 20s and 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build. He was wearing a black jacket and a black and yellow knit hat.
