Elementary school boy approached by stranger in Warren

WARREN, Mich. – A student at Westwood Elementary School in Warren was approached by a man who tried getting the boy into his vehicle Monday afternoon.

The boy was walking home when a man in a white work van stopped and tried speaking with boy on Roan Drive near Martin Road around 3:50 p.m.

The man got out of the van and approached the boy, offering him a ride home. The boy ran back to the school.

As he was returning to the school, he saw his father driving and they reported the incident to the school.

The man was described as an older, white man with a mustache and was bald with gray and black hair on the sides of his head. He was wearing jeans and a black and white checkered shirt.
