Wind alert expires, scattered rain Thursday

Wind Advisory Until 8pm

DETROIT – A WIND ADVISORY was in effect for Detroit and all of southeast Michigan until 8pm ET, Wednesday.

It remains windy through dinnertime with scattered showers. It will be breezy afterward, and the remaining days of winter will be chillier.

Wednesday evening will be breezy as the last of the days shower activity ends. Temps will be in the middle and upper 40s.

The Wednesday night wind will blow 10 to 20 mph from the west. Skies will be mostly cloudy, and overnight lows will be in the middle and upper 30s.

Scattered rain showers return Thursday, and it will be chillier. Families will need a jacket, sweater and umbrella to remain dry. Highs will be near 50°F under overcast skies. A few snowflakes will fall as it gets colder Thursday evening. Thursday night temps will be near freezing.

Friday will become sunnier but colder. Workers and students will need their winter coats to remain warm. Highs will be near 40°F.

Spring begins Sunday, but the weekend will feel like winter. Daytime highs will be near 40°F, and nighttime lows will be in the 20s.
