MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Fifteen drivers were arrested on the suspicion of drunk driving within a four-day period in Macomb County, Sheriff Anthony Wickersham's office reported.
The Sheriff's Office said all of the arrests were made between St. Patrick's Day (March 17) and Sunday night.
The arrests were made in the following communities:
- Harrison Township -- 6 arrests
- Mount Clemens -- 7 arrests
- Macomb Township -- 1 arrest
- Washington Township -- 1 arrest
"It is disconcerting that, with all of the ride-sharing programs that are available, that some drinkers still choose to get behind the wheel," said Wickersham in a statement. "The Sheriff’s Office will continue to vigorously enforce the drunk-driving statutes."
The Sheriff's Office said it started special anti-drunk driving patrols on March 16 and will continue such patrols through April 4, 2016.
A seat belt enforcement period will start May 23 and run through June 5, according the Sheriff's Office.
