Masked gunmen who robbed Detroit Walgreens sought

Gunmen tied up 5 employees inside store

DETROIT – Masked gunmen stormed into a Detroit Walgreens just minutes after it opened and tied up five employees inside.

It happened at the Walgreens on Jefferson Avenue near Mount Elliott Street.

Local 4 News is told three masked men came into the store around 8 a.m. Saturday and tied up the workers. Two of the men then held the workers at gunpoint, while the third gunman forced two of the workers to open the safe in the back of the store.

The men got away with cash. They were seen leaving in a tan Ford Explorer traveling on Jefferson Avenue heading to I-75.

There were no injuries.
