Terminally ill Michigan dog dies after fulfilling bucket list experiences

Rescue dog Buddy had thousands of followers online

GROVELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A terminally ill Michigan dog who captured thousands of people's hearts as he made his way through a bucket list of experiences has passed away.

Buddy's "humom," Loren Cazan, said Monday that the more than 14-year-old dog who had cancer, "Looked at me and his eyes told me it was time."

"He went peacefully with hugs and pets and being told how loved he was," Cazan said. "I have a tremendous hole in my heart but I'm so grateful for the love Buddy has given me and having been the voice for seniors and rescue all over the globe."

Cazan adopted the senior dog after coming across while volunteering at A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue. She and Buddy started Buddy's Bucket List on Facebook to raise awareness about the need for senior dog adoption.
