KENT CITY, Mich. – A toddler might have been alone for several days with the body of a man who was caring for her in a Western Michigan home.
The Kent County Sheriff's Office said the 49-year-old man was found dead Tuesday after police went to a home at 15175 Peach Ridge in Kent City.

The man's relatives had asked police to check on him after they hadn't heard from him in several days.
The Sheriff's Office said the victim was caring for a friend's 2-year-old daughter. She was unharmed.
The man's cause of death has not yet been released, but the Sheriff's Office said there is no immediate indication of foul play.
