A person was killed early Thursday morning on Detroit's west side when a car slammed into a light pole and caught fire, police said.
The crash happened on 14th Street near Michigan Avenue just before 4 a.m.

A source told Local 4 the person was burned so badly that emergency crews were not immediately able to tell if the victim was a man or woman.
