PONTIAC, Mich. – A 34-year-old Pontiac man who was wanted in connection with his ex-girlfriend's death after her body was found stuffed in a closet has been arrested in Kentucky, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.

Undersheriff Mike McCabe said the U.S. Marshals Service took Kevin Wiley into custody on Wednesday. He is awaiting extradition.

Marie Colburn, 30, was found dead by her mother April 22 in her apartment on Ridgemont Drive in Pontiac.

“That sight will never leave my head. I will never, ever, ever really get past that," her mother, Cynthia Simmons, said. "I opened up the coat closet and that's when I found her."

Colburn was suffocated, the medical examiner's office said.

Wiley is on parole after being convicted of manslaughter and second-degree home invasion in a Wayne County case, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections. He also cut his tether off, the state said.
