Abandoned church burns on Detroit's east side
DETROIT – Detroit firefighters battled two fires on Detroit's east side Thursday afternoon.
An abandoned church burned near Mack Avenue and Mount Elliott Street.
Thick black smoke could be seen from miles away.
The church is at the corner of Pulford Street and Meldrum Street.
Just blocks away, a fire ravaged a home at Pulford Street and Mount Elliott Street.
No injuries have been reported.
It is unclear at this time how either fire started.
