LOS ANGELES – A man with a gun who appeared to be trying to jump a perimeter fence at Los Angeles International Airport(LAX) was arrested Wednesday night.
Just before 8 p.m. PDT an employee notified police after seeing a man trying to scale the perimeter fence onto airport property.

Responding officers saw the man throw a handgun before jumping into a car and fleeing from police.
After a short chase, he was arrested.
The man was injured in some way and was hospitalized after he was detained.
Police say the man had committed an assault with a deadly weapon and "In his attempt to escape, climbed over several vehicles near the perimeter fence giving the appearance of attempting to climb the fence."
