The infection is bad enough that the plate will be removed. She will be without a plate 6-12 weeks before it is replaced again. We are back to square one.

The update comes just four days after a previous update, sharing the initial news of the infection. The post read:

Abbie has an infection on one of her incisions. While we are treating it with antibiotics, it is a sign that part of the skin damaged at the exit wound isn't connections because it's too tight (theres just not enough there). So, beginning next week, she must go into surgery."

Authorities said Kopf was shot by Jason Brian Dalton during a five-hour shooting spree February 20 in between picking up fares as an Uber driver.

Six people were killed as Dalton fired from his car. Authorities said that he switched vehicles in the middle of the attack and continued to shoot victims.
