SYLVAN LAKE, Mich. – Five juveniles led police on a chase early Friday morning in Sylvan Lake. Only three were captured.

Sylvan Lake Police Department say they perused a white Chevrolet Trail-Blazer traveling southbound on Telegraph Road after police say they noticed the vehicle was going at a high rate of speed.

Officers tried to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle quickly sped away, and turned south on north-bound Telegraph.

Officers say right before the chase was to be suspended due to possible public endagerment, the vehicle stopped, and five juveniles ran from the scene.

Officers from Sylvan Lake called the K9 units from Bloomfield Township PD and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office for assistance.

The K9 unit was able to locate three of the passengers, but two of the suspects remain unidentified.

A search of the SUV revealed multiple empty liquor bottles.

Two subjects were 14-years-old while the third suspect was 13-years-old.

The three suspects were released to the custody of their parents pending charges.

The Sylvan Lake Police Department say they’re still investigating and are seeking information on the driver as well as the other unidentified passenger.
