Livonia woman, 18, accused of shooting boyfriend in head

The two had been arguing about ongoing relationship, police say

LIVONIA, Mich. – An 18-year-old Livonia woman accused of shooting an 18-year-old man has been arrested, police said.

Police were called at 8 a.m. Thursday to the 15000 block of Richfield Street after a 911 call was made about a man who was shot inside a home.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicated there was an argument between the 18-year-old victim and a resident of the Richfield Street home -- identified by police as Ann Zarras, 18 -- regarding their ongoing relationship.

A gun belonging to the home was introduced into the argument and the victim was shot, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital with a single gunshot wound in the head. Police said he was listed in critical condition.

Zarras was arrested on charges including assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and assault with a dangerous weapon, police said. She was arraigned Friday.
