WARREN, Mich. – Three people are in custody after allegedly trying to steal ATMs at two stores in Warren early Tuesday morning.
The would-be robbers first targeted the Value Fresh Market Place on Hoover near 10 Mile Road at 3:30 a.m. They backed a minivan into the front door, but took off when they realized there were employees inside the store. They then smashed into Mike's Party Store on Peters near 9 Mile Road, but were unsuccessful in getting the ATM.
Police spotted the suspects leaving the store and a short chase ensued into Detroit.
The suspects were arrested without incident.
