STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A 30-year-old woman from Sterling Heights has died after being hit by an SUV while crossing 15 Mile Road Wednesday night.
Police said the woman was hit near Ryan Road by a 32-year-old driver from Madison Heights who was going westbound in a Jeep.

The woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Troy, where she died.
The Jeep’s driver was not hurt, and stayed on the scene, police said.
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor, police said.
