Motorcyclists killed when vehicle makes illegal pass

Police say a husband and wife were pronounced dead on scene

WHITEFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Whiteford Township police say two people have died after a crash on Consear Road, in Whiteford Township at approximately 10:20 p.m., Saturday.

Police say 42-year-old Jason Walker and his 42-year-old wife, Pamela Walker, were driving a black 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on Consear Road when a 55-year-old man traveling eastbound attempted to illegally pass another vehicle by merging into the westbound lane.

That's when police say the 55-year-old man’s vehicle hit the motorcycle being driven by Walker head-on.

Authorities say the Walkers were pronounced dead at the scene adding they were both wearing helmets at the time of the crash. 

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the crash, and asks anyone with additional information to call 734-240-7711.
