Elderly woman crashes car into Roseville Panera Bread

ROSEVILLE, Mich. – Cellphone video shows the moment after a car came crashing into a Roseville Panera Bread restaurant Sunday morning.

Some of the customers were forced to dive out of the way.

"We were eating and the next thing we know that car was in the lobby," Ryan Mocher told Local 4 News. Mocher and his friend said the noise is what caught their attention.

"It was just loud crashing, and screams and everything," Mocher said. "(There was a) loud, loud bang and people were getting to panic."

Witnesses said an elderly woman was behind the wheel when she lost control. It is believed she may have mistaken the gas pedal for the brake.

The car drove through the glass door before stopping at the front counter.

Local 4 was told about 15-20 people were inside at the time of the crash. The Panera Bread is located on Gratiot Avenue near Masonic Boulevard.

Minor injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
