Fugitive who escaped from Tennessee jail captured by Royal Oak police
Timothy Eugene England escaped from Tennessee jail Aug. 30
ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Police knew a man being held under guard since Friday in a Royal Oak hospital was violent, but they didn't know who they had in custody.
With Royal Oak packed Friday night, an officer saw the man shooting up cocaine in a car in a lot off of 11 Mile Road. He ran, then tried to stab the officer with the filthy drug-packed syringe.
"I can’t recall a time someone trying to stab an officer with a syringe," Chief Corrigan O'Donohue said.
He ran again and was stopped with a Taser gun near the Lafayette parking structure. He had a medical problem and went to the hospital.
He refused to tell police who he was.
His car was stolen out of North Carolina, he had a credit card stolen out of Virginia and he had a BB gun and a bank robbery note.
