Police seek man in connection with fatal shooting on Detroit's east side

DETROIT – Police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a man wanted in connection with a homicide over Labor Day weekend.

Lawrence Isaac McCree Jr. is wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man on Sunday night.

The shooting was reported at 8:50 p.m. at Haverhill and Munich streets on Detroit’s east side.

Police said the victim was standing in front of a friend’s home when the shooter came out of the side of the house armed with a rifle, fired multiple shots and struck the victim.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

McCree is described as black with a dark complexion, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 150 pounds. He has a medium-sized Afro, a thin mustache and a goatee. He should be considered armed and extremely dangerous, police said.
