AAA Michigan: Statewide average gas prices fall 6 cents in the past week

DEARBORN – Good news for drivers as, AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have fell 6 cents in the past week.

The Dearborn-based auto club says the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $2.17 on Sunday. Which is about 27 cents less than this time last year.

The lowest average price was about $2.06 per gallon in the Benton Harbor area, while the highest was around $2.24 in the Marquette area.

Michigan currently ranks 23rd in the nation for the least expensive average gas price.

Triple-A attributes the fallen prices to a surplus of supplies and limited disruption to production.
