Mall of America is going against the trend of stores opening on Thanksgiving.
The center, based in Bloomington, Minnesota, is the largest shopping mall in the United States.

It began opening on Thanksgiving in 2012, but mall officials told The Associated Press it will close for the holiday this year. The decision, according to the AP, is designed to give workers time with their families.
The mall will re-open 5 a.m. the Friday after Thanksgiving.
