Dundee schools put on soft lockdown after threat posted to social media

Dundee Community Schools issued an alert Tuesday urging people to be cautious of an unknown man who approached a student and offered a ride several times.

DUNDEE, Mich. – Schools in Dundee were placed on a soft lockdown Friday morning after a threat was made on social media, according to police.

All schools in the district are on a soft lockdown.

A soft lockdown means operations within each building are proceeding as normal, but are not taking or allowing any outside visitors in the buildings. There will also be no outside recess.

Each building is secure with a police presence.

A mutual aid agreement was made between Dundee police and other law enforcement agencies.
