Winemakers along Lake Erie north shore excited about this year's harvest, plan to make a lot of wine

Wineries in Essex County, just across the river in Canada, are very excited for this year’s wine harvest.

Tom O’Brien, president and founder of Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards Winery, says this is the first full harvest in three years.  The cold frigid winters of 2014 and 2015 hurt the grape vines.  Stephen Mitchell,. President of Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery thinks this could be one of the best vintages in the last seven years.

At least 18 wineries are located in EPIC wine country, which is the region known as the Essex Pelee Island Coast along the Lake Erie North Shore.
