Weare Township, Mich. – A semi truck carrying 149,000 pounds of apples rolled over Tuesday morning, sending the apples flying near US 31 in Weare Township, Michigan.
The truck was traveling from Sparta to Ludington, and rolled over the median of US 31.
The driver, 62-year-old Dennis Radford, received minor injuries.
Radford told the Mason County Press that he didn't know what caused the crash, which occured shortly before 10 a.m., Tuesday.
"It happened so fast," he said. "I was driving along; hit the brakes, and I ended up here."
The apples were going to be used for applesauce - they were in route from Hubert Storage in Sparta to Indian Summer in Ludington.
The 149,000 pounds equated to approximately 80,000 apples.
