Police investigating officer-involved shooting during traffic stop on Detroit's west side


DETROIT – Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting after a vehicle attempted to run over officers Tuesday morning on Detroit’s west side.

The shooting happened at about 12:35 a.m. after an attempted traffic stop at Cambridge Avenue and Steel Street.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle reversed and tried to run over officers.

A Detroit officer fired at the vehicle, missing the driver who attempted to flee on foot. He was arrested a short time later.
