DEARBORN, Mich. – A 36-year-old Detroit man was arrested Friday after a theft from a garage in Dearborn.

A witness saw two men enter a backyard at about 4:45 p.m. and leave with an air compressor in the area of Lanson and Charles streets, according to police. The witness gave officers a description of the vehicle and officers were able to stop the vehicle without incident.

The occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

Jason Walter Wilson is charged with breaking and entering, as well as being a habitual offender. The other two occupants of the vehicle were released pending further investigation.

“We are grateful that a citizen took the initiative to contact the police immediately which allowed us to quickly respond and investigate the matter,” Dearborn police Chief Ronald Haddad said. “Due to the concerned citizen’s willingness to get involved we were able to arrest a person of interest in numerous crimes spanning the past several weeks.”

Wilson was arraigned and bond was set at $25,000.
