Woman robbed, pistol-whipped in Southfield

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A 33-year-old woman was attacked and robbed at gunpoint Monday morning in Southfield.

The robbery happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Grayson Drive, near Greenfield and 9 Mile roads.

The woman had just parked her vehicle in her garage when she was approached by two men wearing ski masks and armed with pistols, according to Southfield police. The men demanded her purse and one of the men hit her several times in the head with the gun.

Police say the men were last seen running northbound from the area.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is being treated for an injury.

The incident is under investigation.
