Anti-Trump, Anti-Pledge

Lawmaker refuses to stand during council meeting

A member of the Oshkosh, Wisconsin city council was so upset about the election of Donald Trump that she refused to stand during the playing of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Councilwoman Carolina Panske said she was exercising her right of free speech but was not trying to be disrespectful to veterans. The sit down protest happened last week. Panske said she may, or may not, stand up for the pledge during the next meeting.

The city's mayor said she will not face disciplinary action.
