WDIV-Local 4/ClickOnDetroit, the NBC affiliate in Detroit, has named new National and Digital Sales Managers.
John Cook has been named National Sales Manager. Cook most recently was the station’s Digital Sales/New Business Manager, a role he took over in 2014. In his new position, he will be responsible for working with COXReps and the station’s national brand advertisers.
Cook is a sales and marketing veteran and an integral part of the WDIV-Local 4 and ClickOnDetroit sales team. Prior to joining the station as an Account Executive in 2012, Cook was Regional Vice-President of JB Dollar Stretcher Magazine for nearly 10 years and Marketing Director of Gold Clipper Magazine for six years before that.
“Business savvy and a relationship builder, John is the absolute right person to represent us nationally. He is a highly experienced advertising executive who can sell and manage across multiple platforms and lead our team of talented AEs,” said General Sales Manager Gary Macko.
Justin Pontz has been named New Business/Digital Sales Manager. A graduate of Michigan State University (BA) and Northwood University (MBA), Pontz has contributed greatly to the sales success of ClickOnDetroit, which is consistently the No. 1 TV website in Michigan, according to comScore.
“Justin’s rise is really remarkable. In eight years, he’s gone from our Internet Coordinator to Account Executive to New Business/Digital Sales Manager,” continued Macko. “His track record for hitting big goals and evolving along with an ever-changing industry made him the obvious choice.”
Both positions are effective immediately.
