PONTIAC, Mich. – April Wagner is a glass blower and an artist who is a force of nature in the world of art.

This weekend, she’s hosting a show, a sale and a hands-on glass-blowing experience at her studios, called Epiphany Glass, on Orchard Lake in Pontiac.

When you walk into the studio doors, you’re hit with a blast of heat from the furnace and a splash of color from Wagner’s glass pieces. All of the pieces are for sale, all making unique, hand-made gifts. For $50, visitors can try their hand at the very physical art of glass blowing.

Take a look at what glass blowing is all about and see some of the amazing artwork in the video below:

Here’s a video of Wagner in action:

Wagner is also building a large glass work inside Cobo Center for the Auto Show:

If you want to join one of the classes on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. or on Dec. 10 and Dec. 17 from noon to 4 p.m., Epiphany Glass is located at 770 Orchard Lake Road in Pontiac, just east of the intersection of Telegraph/Old Telegraph and Orchard Lake Road. The entrance is at the rear of the building at the corner of Orchard Lake Road and Sylvan Court.
