ROSEVILLE, Mich. – Two teens have were charged Friday in connection with an attempted robbery at Peter's Gun Range in Roseville.

Jamone Scott, 19, and Antione Petty, 17, both of Detroit, were charged with breaking and entering after they allegedly tried to break into the gun store Thursday using a pickup truck.

An 18-year-old Detroit resident was taken into custody around 2 p.m. Friday in connection with the incident and is being held by Roseville police.

Police said three individuals hooked a tow strap to the security bars at 5:30 a.m. Thursday and used a red 2006 Dodge pickup truck to try to pull the bars from the door.

The attempt failed, and the pickup truck got stuck in the snow, police said.

You can see video of the storefront, the damaged front door and the bars that the suspects attempted to pull away from the store below.

The three would-be thieves ran east from the store, and police followed their footprints for nearly two hours and more than three miles.

Police said the pursuit led to the arrest of Scott and Petty at a home near Greater Mack Avenue and 12 Mile Road in St. Clair Shores. They were taken into custody without incident. Roseville police said the owners of the home were not involved in the incident.

There were no weapons involved in the incident, and no injuries. Nothing was taken from the store, but the front door was damaged, police said.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
