DETROIT – Detectives from the Detroit Police Department are investigating a shooting that injured a 5-year-old boy the city's east side last night.
According to Police, the boy was with his Grandmother visiting a relatives home in the 13000 block of Kilbourne when the family heard a gunshot. The child then started crying and bleeding from the ankle.

He was taken to Children's Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
At this time police do not have a description of the shooter.
Child abuse detectives from the Detroit Police Department are also investigating.
