State of emergency declared in Macomb County due to sinkhole
FRASER, Mich. – Macomb County executive Mark Hackel has now declared a state of emergency due to the collapsed drain pipe and sinkhole in Fraser.
A massive sinkhole opened up the night of Christmas Eve when a family awoke to sounds of their home sinking into the ground.
In total, 22 families were affected.
Surveyors at the site said Monday night's rain loosened the ground up around the collapsed pipe, but as of right now, it's important to note there's no new damage.
